Interoperability

Most mobile operators employ a multi-vendor strategy when architecting their radio access network (RAN), requiring that the hardware and software in the backhaul network be fully interoperateable with multiple vendors for ease of deployment, manageability, and flexibility. Carrier Access® innovative FLEXengine™ software in the MASTERseries™ and Axxius® products, along with the EdgeFLEX™ products, employ functionality that has been tested with multiple vendors and ensures an interoperable and flexible network architecture that carriers can rely on as they maintain, modify, and expand their RAN. The context-free optimization provided by the FLEXengine is just one example of the ability to provide A.bis optimization across multiple vendors, where each vendor has their own value-add variant of the protocol. Operators enjoy the benefits of a simplified network and reduced operational expenses (OPEX) by having a single solution that can be universally deployed.
