Graceful Migration to VoIP

Carriers are migrating, for obvious reasons, from a TDM based network to a VoIP based network in the core. Additionally carriers are transitioning traditional access methods to packet based voice transmission. In doing so, they face many issues. One of main issues is to be able to protect as much of their investment as possible and at the same time set the platform for providing multiple IP based services going forward. This needs to happen with minimum service interruption to the customers and keep providing services at the same high quality and reliability as before.

Carriers need to cap expenditure on traditional network elements and procure equipment that works with their traditional network, provides them with a platform for providing multiple IP-based services going forward and provides the carriers the ability to migrate at their own pace while protecting their investment.

The Carrier Access’ Adit family of products solves various pain points in the migration of traditional voice to VoIP (voice over IP). The Adit products have set the bar on industry standards for providing access gateways for voice. The Adit products retain traditional network interfaces as well as IP interfaces and can seamlessly bridge the two access types. By providing FXS and PRI interfaces to the end customers, carriers can continue to provide voice services, over either a TDM (time division multiplexing) or IP access line, to their customers with zero disruption to services, quality and user behavior. By providing a high quality of IP and TDM feature sets at a very disruptive price point, Carrier Access Adit family of products helps carriers migrate their access networks from a traditional TDM network to an IP network at their own pace seamlessly.
